According to the pic I see online there are no little tables or nighstands next to the beds. Where do people put lamps and alarm clocks?

I figure most people use their desks or dressers as bedside tables - I lofted my bed last year so when I needed to store things nearby, I found that there was enough room on the corner of my bed. But if none of these options sounds good, just head to Ikea or Target and pick up a cheap table.

That was my plan. From the picture it didn’t look like there was enough room for a bedside table.

The room layout just shows you how the room furniture’s will most likely be placed when you walk in for the first time. Almost everyone rearranges their furniture to make more room.

Thanks very much. That helps a lot!

Bed Bath and Beyond has a great “dorm space saver” headboard/shelf thing - very easy to set up and fits well.

Not only does it give you extra storage, but it allows you to put your alarm clock right over your head. You attach those clamp style lights and clamp style fans also for convenience.
