haha will I even get into college?

hey first time posting here,

kind of feel like an idiot posting this alongside every other will i get into an ivy thread but whatever. I basically did nothing my freshman and sophomore years, stepped it up a bit junior year but I guess it wasnt enough, now im stuck with a 2.82 uw/3.17 wieghted gpa. I guess im a smart kid i was just an idiot in high school and decided to play the bad ass card for 2 years and think it was cool to be a slacker…

heres some other stuff

SAT-didnt study for these at all really

1st time-1900 (710 m, 610 cr, 580 w)
2nd time 1940 (730 m, 590 cr, 620 w)
so highest combined is like 1960 i think

gonna take em again in october cause i think these are my last hope, trying to break 2000.

EC’s

Ive been in a Polish Supplemetary School for almost ten years now I think, I graduate the end of this year, with what kind of certificate im not sure. Its 4 hours of a Friday night every week, so basically throughout high school, while all my friends are out partying ive been stuck here, but its whatever.

Have 2 credits from American University for a summer course on public health.

went to a leadership conference this summer.

Did an Italian exchange last year with my school, hosted a kid for about 2 weeks and I stayed there for a bit.

Im not sure if this counts but Im incredibly well traveled and its kind of shaped the person I am today, globally minded, not trying to brag or anything but just for reference ive been to Europe over 10 times, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina, Canada, Mexico, bunch of places in the Carribean, all over basically. My family loves to travel and I guess I dont even realize how fortunate I am to experience these places. I wish I could make this into an EC somehow…

Ive got 2 years of Volleyball and some random clubs but thats about it.

Now I realize alot of these schools are basically impossible for me to get into and Im pretty sure I dont have a solid chance at any, but here it goes…

NYU- haha
BU
Northeastern
Fordham
GWU
American
Syracuse
UMD-College Park
Penn State
Rutgers
UMass Amherst
Colorado Boulder

Just let me know what you think and any suggestions to help my pathetic chances.

I think a 3.0 is a basic minimum qualification for selective universities, and you don’t have it. I advise you to apply to a number of less selective universities, attend one of them, and transfer to one of the ones on this list if you’re not satisfied with your initial choice and have a decent GPA. A 3.3 would be good, 3.5 could definitely get you in to some of these.

assuming that these colleges will LET you apply w/ your GPA

NYU - you will never get in…trust me
BU - maybe…er Reach
Northeastern - Reach
Fordham - ???
GWU - Reach
American - Reach
Syracuse - ???
UMD-College Park - Reach
Penn State - Reach
Rutgers - Reach
UMass Amherst - ???
Colorado Boulder - Reach

Of those on your list, the ones you have chances at are Northeastern, Boston University, American University, Rutgers University, and the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

I’d say your best chances of these are probably at American University and UMass.

Consider some schools like the University of West Virginia, Drexel, St. Johns, St. Bonaventure, the University of Kentucky, Bowling Green, Ball State, University of Connecticut, Auburn University, University of Cincinnati, University of Louisville, Providence University, Rhode Island University and the University of Miami at Ohio. Some of these are matches and some are slight reaches, but all are at least possibilities for you.

Good luck.

SUNY schools

NYU - don’t even bother applying
BU - maybe
Northeastern - maybe
Fordham - not sure
GWU - don’t even bother applying
American - maybe
Syracuse - Reach
UMD-College Park - Reach…probably closer to don’t even bother
Penn State - don’t even bother applying
Rutgers - Reach
UMass Amherst - maybe
Colorado Boulder - not sure

I would look at some other schools as well: West Virginia University, Louisville, Marshall, Drexel, Temple, Suny schools, East Carolina University, LSU

Got ocotber sat back,
M 730
Cr 620
W 700

Which makes both my single sitting and superscore a 1350/2050.

Here’s an updated list

Nyu
Boston u
Northeastern
Syracuse
Fordham
Rutgers-in state for me
Uconn
UC boulder
Temple
Drew
Uri
Umass
Stony brook
Drexel

Your gpa is still too low for NYU.

Youll get into Temple–maybe with some money, but I can tell you right now, they could care less about how well traveled you are. Most schools will likely feel the same, unless it shaped your life somehow.

NYU- reach
BU- reach
northeastern- reach
syracuse- target
fordham- target
rutgers- safety
uc boulder- safety
temple- safety
drew- safety
uri- safety
Umass Amherst- safety
Stony brook- safety
Drexel- Safety

based on campusexplorer.com
i searched as if u were the top 20% of your class.

That new SAT helps, but once again, that GPA is just…ew.

I don’t think you’re shoo-in to Temple at all. That’s a big maybe.
