I got the Revlon volumizer hot brush when I was first aware of it in 2020. Revolutionized my hair care! Prior to that, I was using a round brush and hair dryer, and a straight iron, and a curling iron to achieve the same result.
After about a year the first Revlon started getting that burnt electric smell, so I replaced it in 2021 during an Amazon sale with the HOT TOOLS 24K Gold Blow Dryer Brush, which lasted until I dropped it in late 2025. In the meantime, our hair dryer that was over a decade old was starting to get that burnt electric smell, so I decided to splurge on a Shark hair dryer with accessories.
I was hoping to replace both the hair dryer and the volumizer with the Shark system, but with the model I got I missed my hot round brush, so I purchased another Revlon on sale.
I have sort of wavy hair that I typically dry straight. My D with very curly hair was visiting in March and used my Shark with the diffuser attachment and LOVED it, and I ended up getting her one for her birthday in April.
I mainly use the turbo concentrator hair dryer attachment to get my hair 85% dry, then use the Revlon for some volume, then use the Shark again to make sure it’s really dry (any moisture/humidity and my hair puffs out). I do like the Frizz Fighter finishing tool, but the Quick Smooth brush didn’t replace the Revlon/hot brush for me.
