Hi, I’m looking for the Haitian Creole Test.
I meant to ask how do I sign up for it?
@derisme I moved your question to a separate thread. In the future please do not ask you own separate question on an existing thread – on CC that is considered rude to the original poster who is looking for an answer to his/her specific question.
What Haitian Creole test?
I don’t believe there is any generally accepted, standardized Haitian Creole (or Kreyol Haitien) proficiency test. There may be something that some for-profit company sells, but I don’t know that it would be acceptable for college admissions/credit.
Why do you want this? Are you trying to demonstrate foreign language proficiency for a college application, or to meet college graduation requirements, or to get college credit? A few colleges may offer courses in Creole, and may have some internal proficiency test (e.g., an exam from an actual course) that would be good for that college. But I don’t think that’s going to work for an application. You are probably going to have to contact your target colleges that care about foreign language proficiency one by one to ask them whether Creole proficiency counts for them, and if so what you should do to confirm your proficiency.
The Defense Language Institute has a Haitian Creole test. I do not know if it is possible for individuals who are not government employees can arrange to take that test.
