Half Time Show

Oh, my gosh, are we dating ourselves! My husband and I really enjoyed the halftime show. He went to Tulane, and I went to University of Miami, so even though we’re Southerners, we got to know Bruce because of all the Yankees at our colleges.

Glad to see the Boss making a comeback!

We were rooting for both teams. Big time Steelers fans, thanks to Homeboy Terry Bradshaw, but absolutely adore Kurt Warner.

As usual, fell asleep before the end of the game. But husband said it was a very good, exciting game.

missypie, what about Bruce? He looks pretty darn good for almost 60. I am so happy to report that I was able to get tickets to see him in Charlottesville on 5/5; has to be the best Monday I’ve had in a while!

Bruuuuuuuuuuuuce!

I’m unclear how anyone can listen to Springsteen’s songs, which he writes, and then be suprised to find out he’s a political person. He’s been, for example, advocating for the working class and speaking out against war for decades now.

As a Jersey girl I have to add that this is no comeback! Bruce has been packing stadiums all along. I’m not going to tell you how many times I’ve seen him in concert but suffice to say I never go more than a few years without a live Bruce fix!

Best thing Bruce ever did was dump that Hollywood skank and marry a Jersey Girl. She did look great.

PMK–I am also surprised when people complain about his politics–they’ve always been there. Same when they complain about his folk music side–he started out as a disciple of Dylan, for gosh sake.

I saw him last year on the Magic tour; missed the tickets this morning, but hopefully something will happen. Two Jersey shows is plainly not enough.

Glad to hear you are a fellow Jersey girl!!!:)

Both Bruce and Patti looked liked they had some fraxel laser resurfacing on their faces…didn’t you guys see how too perfect they looked? Patti and a major nosejob years ago too.

BTW, I’m a Jersey girl too!!!

What ever happened to Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes?

So, Thumper, you WERE watching the game!!!

Isn’t Bruce 60 years old?

Not yet- think his birthday’s in September?

Agree that Bruce has always been political, and also that he was in fine form last night. I’ve seen him too many times to count, and his performances are always among the best in the music biz. He’s 59, missypie. His energy is legendary and he makes me tired just watching! Patti is so talented, really an incredibly talented musician, and it’s a shame that she isn’t showcased a bit more. I highly recommend her solo cds.

It’s true that Jennifer was not given the choice to perform live. I don’t know about Faith Hill.

Bruce has definitely gotten some Botox treatments (at least). He looks great!

I, too, have seen him multiple times started from the very, very beginning of his career at a small theater in Chicago. I’m going to pass on this year’s tour because I just don’t want to spend the money (he isn’t coming to our city anyway).

They dont call him The Boss for nothing. I too saw him a few years back in a rainy Giant Stadium. He is an incredible talent and seems to be a nice person too. And yes Springsteen is political but The Rising was perhaps the most moving response in those post 9-11 months. The entire album is on my ipod.

Halftime was great … I’ve seen him many times in concert including on the Magic tour. THis morning was an exercise in sheer frustration. Both my husband and I kept getting timed out with multiple windows open. I despise ticketmaster these days.

Ugh - I could have gotten tickets this morning but passed, since I was hoping to get better seats. Now I’m thinking that was pretty dumb - they were not bad seats at all. What was I thinking?!

roshke - you could have sold them on ebay. I think there is a scam, while they told me they didn’t any more tickets, they showed me how I could pay double for those tickets on another website. How do you get those tickets and post them so quickly.

"Bruce has definitely gotten some Botox treatments "
Thats a lot more than just Botox. He looked older back in 1983 when I met him at a studio. (And I could have done without the crotch slide into the camera----that was definately a bit much.)

I really enjoyed the show, especially the camera slide. Bruce Springsteen pelvic-thrusted AMERICA. Good thing that part of halftime wasn’t in 3-D…

If anyone had told me that Bruce would ever get Botox injections, I would have never believed it, but his forehead was as smooth as the Etrade baby’s bottom.

Loved the halftime show. High energy, vintage Bruce and E-Street. Loved it all.
