Halliburton moving HQ

To Dubai. Maybe Alexandre can get together with Lesar to watch the Michigan-Wisconsin football game this year. Unfortunately this may cost UW one CEO in the annual rankings. ;-)

Dubai. How convenient.

My thoughts exactly ASAP!

Feel free to set yourselves up and do some work in Iraq. I hear it’s a tough place though. You might want to bring some protection.

i will go right after cheney gets settled.

You are about 10 years behind the times.

Doesn’t matter where they are located - the only thing that matters is the stock price.

While local heroes Boeing and Microsoft have both been convicted of various business abuses and cheating the government on contracts there has been no such action against H. They are and have negotiated DOD contract payments to satisfactory conclusions for both sides.

Dubai is becoming THE major trade center for the middle east. It is a smart move with a well-managed international company.

It’s a GREAT move. With the U.S. cutting and running from Anbar Province (and less violence as a result), and the British and other Coalition forces cutting and running from Basra province (with the pro-Iranian Badr brigades now firmly in control, and less violence as a result), the future lies in doing business with non-U.S. entities. Being positioned outside the sphere of the hostile, aggressive occupier will pave the way for future business.

http://www.lrb.co.uk/v27/n13/harr04_.html

Very good explanation of some of Halliburton and KBR’s audit deficiencies (and other issues related to spending in Iraq).

Maybe will let Mr Harriman take a turn at running things–should be a snap if he’s so smart. LMAO

He was quoting directly from DOD audits in many places.

Nice patriotic company…yep true americans them

So let’s see in Bush can talk about supporting American Firms while his fave is leaving

heh

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!! Don’t mention Halliburton (snarls).

Its called free enterprise folks. They are doing nothing illegal and a few billion dollars are merely being transferred from our treasury to Halliburton shareholders. Many other corporations have done the same thing including Black and Decker as I recall.

But they still get to run the war for us, right?

Cheney’s cronies make money either way. So does my pension fund.

Halliburton got their start as Lyndon Johnson’s cronies. He helped build them into a powerhouse.

Which is why Ike warned, in all seriousness: “BEWARE the military/industrial complex!”
