Halloween Costume Safety

This question may seem very petty, but I need some advice so I’m posting anyway.

As is probably evident by my username, I am a first-year student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Long story short: I have four friends visiting me and my other two friends who also attend UW this weekend for Halloween festivities and I’m trying to plan a costume. We plan on “going out” since my friends all go to schools much smaller than Madison and they want to get the “Madison experience.” I like being social and going out but I do not drink, whereas my friends do/will.

A costume I am considering is Tris Prior from the Divergent series. However, I realized that an all black outfit may not be the smartest thing for a night in which I’ll be surrounded by drunk strangers. As I mentioned above, I don’t plan on drinking so if anything were to happen I think I’d be able to get out on account of my sobriety, but I wanted some input as to whether or not that’d be ‘safe’ or a good idea.

Thanks in advance!

Other than when you are crossing the street (and cars might not see you from a distance if you are alone), I don’t think it’s an issue.

@iwannabe_Brown thanks for the input! I’m probably just overthinking it.
