This year D is “Justin Beiber.” She has a similar haircut and face shape; “All I need is a hoodie and a skateboard, and I’m good to go.”

What are you and/or your offspring wearing this year?

Last year I went to a Ramones/Queen cover band show & I wore a kind of punk rocker outfit- this year I didn’t go & am staying home on Halloween to hand out candy. I may put on my granny mask. It is very lifelike but I doubt I will ever get that wrinkly!

My younger D in college is going to be Dobby ( from Harry Potter), I don’t know what oldest is doing.

Youngest is going as a Harry Potter character (Deatheater???) College aged son went to a Halloween party at his GF’s school - he was a hunter/fisherman - carried a net for his “treats”. His GF went as a peacock - it was really a great costume!!!

The dog has a “hot dog” costume. :)

I don’t wear a costume to hand out candy, but I usually do something a little bit weird, like have a fake hand coming out of the sleeve of my coat, or a giant bug in my hair. Subtle things that the kids don’t notice right away, they usually look in the bowl to see what candy I’m giving out first, then they look at me and sometimes notice.

I forgot how many little kids we have in the neighborhood now-if I wear the mask I won’t put it on till later.
I haven’t even bought Halloween candy yet- but looking at the shelves in the grocery store, no one else has either!

I had to pass on the halloween party last night (I was under the weather), but had plannned to go as a Freudian slip! DH was going to go as Freud

We attended a neighborhood Halloween party. We loaned my son’s top hat to neighbors and they went as the 1% and we went as the 99%. My son wore a paper bag (a la Doonesbury cartoon running this week), and we had signs say “Occupy our host’s last name” and “any one with a hot top is a 1%er” (ie our hosts) and “My son ears more than twice as much as me. I am the 99%.” There were a lot of other 99%ers at the party. Also someone came as the Arab Spring and someone came as the African Nobel prize winner.
