Halloween's "The Microscopic World" - Any ideas?

Hi. I’m planning to make a “microscopic world” with a biology (and chemistry) focus for a yearly Halloween fundraiser in one of my school’s classrooms (fairly large compared to most classes).

I was wondering if any of you guys have ideas? So far, we have that the students would go from station to station learning about different diseases and participate in competitions. The overall winner of each group of 4-5 would get a prize. Our main objective is to make it FUN and EDUCATIONAL (hard, isn’t it?). We have about two weeks and limited funds. These are some of our ideas so far:

-Having 3D model organs around the room
-Using Christmas lights (in addition to other ones) lighting up the room. The Christmas lights would be wrapped in red streamers representing “capillary beds.”
-Having some sort of sheet or pulley device hanging from the ceiling that shows phagocytosis - falling and engulfing whatever is beneath it when the trigger is pulled.
-Hang 3D modes of viruses and bacteria from the ceiling.
-Using lanterns to light the room shaped like bacteria/viruses.

Some ideas for the different stations we have are:
-Diabetes
-HIV (we’d really like this as separate from viral)
-Flus (Avian Bird Flu, Common Flu, Influenza, etc)
-Viral (chicken pox, parvovirus maybe, etc)
-Bacterial infections
You can tell we don’t want anything exotic. We want something that people have heard of or can relate to. Nothing too out there.

People will only be in and out of the room for 5 minutes at most. We want them to get really involved, have fun, and learn while there. We really want to stress the theme of the event. Have any other ideas? I’d really appreciate it.

Any ideas for committees - like a lighting committee, costume, HIV, Diabetes, etc. - are also very appreciated.
