<p>Are halogen lights ok to use in dorm rooms? Some schools don’t allow them because of the high heat factor.</p>

<p>Pretty much anything that could even potentially cause a fire is out by what I assume is Evanston ordinance.</p>
<p>I haven’t seen a college that allows the use of halogen lights. I had a halogen light in my house and it got extremely hot to a point where it was smoking. I don’t think they’re safe really for anywhere, but esp. not a dorm room.</p>
