PG, if you wrote that – you need to put it on twitter and/or FB and tag Lin-Manuel Miranda! He’d love it (and he does seem to be on either FB or Twitter a lot).
I just created a Twitter account and did so. I think I did it correctly!
^^^ totally agree!
I’m guessing there’s a good chance she will hear back from LMM (or someone).
@teriwtt Ridiculous, indeed, considering the sitdown will be there for a very long time and it’s not as though they are vying to see the OBC. The resales were already high two weeks ago for Chicago shows.
People do crazy things, though. During the basketball game on Sunday night, the announcers said that someone in California paid $98,000 for two tickets to the game.
I tagged #HamiltonChi and @lin_manuel. Hopefully it works!
Pizzagirl, that’s brilliant.
A question for those who got tickets this morning and are more competent than I am with Ticketmaster (which would likely be everyone who got tickets). I managed to snag a single ticket for my nephew, for a show in March. I selected the eticket option assuming that I would be able to print the ticket from my Ticketmaster account. But now it seems that it’s only mobile something or other? I use my phone to check my email and search Google every now and then. I really don’t want to have to figure out the app thing – am I out of luck?
I clearly do not have Ticketmaster mojo so I’m not the right person to ask (have been sporadically trying all afternoon with no success), but can the e-ticket option be accessed via email?
I am sure the only reason I was successful was that I only wanted one ticket. I did get an email confirmation of the ticket, and this is what it says:
DELIVERY: eTickets
Get in with:
Mobile
All ticket verification QR codes will appear approximately 45 days prior to the scheduled start time of the event.
Of course, Ticketmaster chat is “not available at this time.”
I’ve actually been trying for 1 ticket and haven’t been successful. I am really not having the luck today!
PG you likely will hear from LMM on Twitter. He responded to something D tweeted sometime back and was not as good as what you posted.
I tweeted it at him twice, but it’s in two parts. We shall see! Thanks for the Amex info – I am now able to find pairs of premium tickets, but I’m not (yet) willing to pay $497 for them.
I was retweeted with a nice comment by Jon Rua over the weekend. I was looking though old Playbills and the “dreaded white sheet” came out of my In the Heights Playbill…sure enough, Jon Rua was not only my first Hamilton, but also my first Usnavi.
It’s both cool and depressing to look over old Playbills…for every then-unknown Annaleigh Ashford making her Broadway deput in a tiny part, there are 20 who are still unknown (to me, and I know that is a big qualifier.)
Regarding AMEX, I have a Platinum card and purchased four tickets on June 13 which was the first day of the AMEX presale. Didn’t need to use the concierge service. Just logged on to Ticketmaster and got the tickets for a Sunday matinee in early January at face value. Very easy. I complain a lot about that annual fee for the Platinum card but at times like these, it’s worth it.
Update - I just got 6 tix for a Feb matinee! I had just been randomly going on, and all of a sudden the interactive seat map worked again, so I got what I wanted (I was only willing to do the $177 price, not the $497 price).
@Pizzagirl Glad you got tix. And your earlier post made me LOL so thanks for that!
Wow, it looks like there are a good number of tickets left. I hope that people who gave up this morning come back and try again.
Also interesting that so many of the seats are “obstructed view” or “limited view.” Kind of makes me wonder why this particular theater was selected.
Yeah - it looked like a bunch of seats opened up all of a sudden. I don’t know that this theater necessarily has a particularly large # of obstructed or limited view seats - my guess is that those were the leftovers!
The Private Bank Theatre is part of the Nederlander group so that’s likely why it is playing there. It’s a huge theatre, with probably 500 more seats than the Richard Rogers has in NYC.
I’ve got both IE and Chrome windows open…luckily I have two monitors. Checking for tickets. I’m willing to pay the almost $500 but they need to be closer than Orchestra Row R.
