@doschicos It’s a tradition at her HS that kids wear college T’s for “decision day.” I’d love it if there were people going to Hamilton, Lafayette, Jefferson, and Wash U and they all took a pic together!
Don’t forget James Madison, @stencils!
Second block of tickets for Hamilton in Chicago goes on sale this Tuesday at 10AM.
Was just in NZ. There are so many references to Hamilton (alas, not Hamilton, Alexander), but it still made me smile. Also drove through the town of Miranda.
Historic quirk: I have an ancestor who was a member of the Lewis & Clark Expedition. His name: Alexander Hamilton Willard. Birthdate: July 1778 (some sources say 1777) in New Hampshire. What blows me all away is that his father named him out of admiration for A.Ham…who was all of 22-23 years old at the time (Chernoff says he was born in 1755 or 1757). It really speaks to me about how influential A.Ham was in the early days of the US, and how darned YOUNG he was to have already earned such fame!
Just received an email with ticket release available for Hamilton NYC tickets from 5/23/17 to mid August 2017 at face value. Check out ticketmaster.
Just got tickets for July 30th! Couldn’t get any for Saturday the 29th like I wanted, but I’m happy anyway. My daughter and I saw it in August and we just knew we had to go again!!
Benreb, do you mind sharing the ticket cost. As I look through it seems many are resale and range in cost from $650 to $2000+. Didn’t realize Ticketmaster did ‘resale’ tickets…Is that to be expected?
@rutgersmamma Yes, ticketmaster has done resale for awhile - first through stub hub (which they own) now also directly.
The blocks were only from 5/23 until 8/13/17. The tickets seemed to be the same price I paid back in June with the Tony Awards release. ex: $199 for Front Mezz.
@rutgersmamma I paid $199 for Front Mezz. tickets. Last October I paid almost $300 per ticket for seats in row L of the Orchestra section. I thought it was crazy at the time, but now it looks like those same seats are going for $850!!
I had to teach a class this morning when the Chicago block went live for next May-September, but my D scored orchestra tickets for us for next June fo $177 + fees. I’m feeling pretty good right now
Yea, we got the same deal for June 2017 in Chicago, when D graduates. So excited.
I spent the weekend in New York City, and the first thing I did with my daughters was go to Trinity Church, to see Alexander’s and Eliza’s graves.
We now have lots of Chicago Hamilton tickets. There are plenty left.
Ugh… D in Boston emailed me last night to tell me she and her roommate are coming back here for 4th of July in 2017 (she usually comes home for the 4th, and roommate has come a couple of times), and could we get tickets for then. I told her I wouldn’t be home today to do it, but if she wanted to she could, and please, do not get premium tickets again. By 10:10AM, I had an email from her telling me she’d gotten tickets for 7/2. So it will be the third one for me!
The Chicago block today also included tickets the last 2 weeks of March, so I bought 2 for a show during D2’s spring break! Thanks for the alert that someone posted a few days ago. $147 for Wednesday matinee in right mezzanine. Made her day when I sent the screen shot!
Daveed Diggs’ band, clipping., is outstanding.
I was camping last weekend. The three year old girl at the next campsite was marching around singing “My Shot” all weekend. The Hamilton craze really hasn’t hit Seattle hard, though. Most people I work with and friends here aren’t familiar with it. It is coming here sometime in 2017, though. I bought a ticket series offered by a group I belong to – they said our group would get an early shot at Hamilton tix.

Not sure if you all knew about this but the Broadway Hamilton cast was registering voters today (and will be again on Saturday). My SIL just became a citizen today (!) and he and D went to register. And SIL ended up being interviewed for local TV!
