Happy 100th Birthday to Olivia DeHavilland

For the classic movie fans among us: one of the last (and greatest) stars of Hollywood’s Golden Age is 100 today. I love her in everything, and she could play pretty much everything, too. Everyone thinks of her as Melanie, and I think she did that brilliantly, but my favorite of her performances is in “The Heiress.” I recently saw “The Light in the Piazza” for the first time and she was phenomenal in that, too.

If you get TCM, she’s the Star of the Month: http://www.tcm.com/this-month/article/1224896%7C0/Olivia-de-Havilland-Fridays-in-July.html

Another interview with Olivia De Havilland, wherein she finally discusses the infamous "feud’ between her and Joan Fontaine, her younger sister:

Yes, that’s cool. Isn’t it odd that she is the only remaining major cast member of GWTW - even of the children? Even the children are gone now.

^^Wow, didn’t know that.

She was in some good movies. The Snake Pit!

Well, the movie was made in 1938-39, so even the ‘children’ would be 80 if they were only 4-5 in the movie.

Watching GWTW on TCM right now.

What a beautiful and talented actress. Thanks for the TCM tip, @frazzled1 .
