I didnt learn about Ms Makeba until about 1987, when I took an American Popular music class at the local community college from a prof who then went to Northwestern.
Fabulous class, one of my favorites.
Im not big on history, but I was mesmerized learning much more about the roots of blues, gospel,& rock & roll than I had ever dreamed.
