Thank you! My kid arrived home this evening. That’s all I need ![]()
Happy Mother’s Day!! ![]()
Have a wonderful Mothers Day!
It will be a great one for us!
DD2 is in active labor with her first - who was due 5/7.
The hospital is 2.5 miles from me, so I’ll meet him soon.
Thank you and Happy Mother’s Day!
My D lands in a few hours…returning from a semester abroad. Seeing her will be the best gift!

My old Trader Joe amaryllis decided to put on a spectacular Mother’s Day display.
And the official bouquet husband brought home from the farmers market yesterday.
And the tulips I bought last week at TJ, together with the plumeria almost brought home by husband.
Happy, Happy Mother’s Day!
I was blessed to spend time with H, S, D, SIL, GS, and GD today.
I still miss my mom immensely, in heaven for exactly six years and one day. And I miss my baby sister even more. My heart breaks every day for her dear children and grandchildren.
Happy Mother’s Day to all!
I really enjoyed this piece , which contains some insight about the history of Mothers’ Day. I thought some of you might find it informative (it’s not political, I promise - just don’t read the comments if you want to avoid that stuff)): May 11, 2024 - by Heather Cox Richardson.
I love experiences and I love puzzles. I also love The Amazing Race.
Today my love and my D surprised me with an Escape Room experience! So. Much. Fun. There were 4 others we played with…one, just by chance knew my love from a cafe he goes to. We all had such varied skills and ways of interpreting things that it was easy to get along and work as a team. We “escaped” with 3 minutes and 18 seconds left on the clock (it was an hour).
If you like puzzles and games, do it. I’ve always wanted to.
Hope all CC moms had a wonderful day! ![]()
We had a lovely day - the sun finally came out for the first time since son arrived on Thursday. We had breakfast outside at a local joint, where they gave moms a chocolate covered strawberry at the end of the meal. Then over to Belmont Park and Mission Beach for a stroll along the water and photo ops with fake flower displays. At husband’s request, we took a quick drive down Sunset Cliffs. Then home for some sunning and hot tub time. And over the weekend, son and I have been going through his old childhood school and activity papers to whittle them down. Quite a nostalgic journey!
I coincidentally last saw each of my parents on a Mother’s Day so the holiday is a bit bittersweet.
Wonder how they determine who gets a chocolate covered strawberry? That seems invite all kinds of awkwardness! Ask and if the answer is no, don’t give one?! Ask if people are there celebrating Mother’s Day?
We did mention that son was visiting while chatting with the server. Maybe they gave it to all adult women? No idea, but there were several family groups eating there.
My son called (he lives far away) but could only chat for 5 minutes. My husband didn’t realize it was Mother’s Day until mid-afternoon and ran to the grocery store and brought me flowers that are impressive but pretty ratty plus a card and chocolates. I’m pretty bummed.
Well, the new Mom labored a looong time on Mother’s Day. The little bugger was born on Monday at 0104.
It’s a good thing he is very cute ![]()
