Happy Teacher's Appreciation Day !

To all of those great teachers out there , who don’t always feel the appreciation for their commitment to their students, I hope you had a wonderful day and that students and maybe even parents reached out to tell you how important you are

My husband even remembered…he doesn’t always remember my birthday!

And kudos also to the wonderful teaching assistants out there.

Here in Michigan, we celebrate by letting teachers know they may or may not be paid for time already worked.

Hope the rest of the nation is having a better teacher’s appreciation day than we are

@romanigypsyeyes , we have a similar issue in our area ( the city of Atlantic City ) , only it’s all city workers and not just teachers …terrible

I’m so sorry that Michigan teachers are dealing with this. Hugs to all of them on the picket line trying to get funding.
I’m almost ashamed to admit that our PTO is treating us to lunch all week. They are fantastic volunteers and we love them. I wish we could share them … not sure the taco salad bar they brought us today could be shipped to a district that needs it down along the river.

There are so many teachers my kids had, especially elementary ones, who I wish I still had contact with these days so I could tell them thank you.

I do still run into one or two from time to time, and am sure to tell them how much we appreciated having them. A couple of years ago I ran into a gaggle of them (they were all retired now and had a book club - they happened to be having lunch at the same place I was meeting a friend). I was so excited to tell them how much they’d meant to my kids but I may have gotten a little out of control in seeing so many of them in one place!
