Hello! Thank you so much. I was wondering whether grade deflation is a major problem at DA
Try reading this thread from last year. It contains more than I can summarize in a paragraph.
The Deerfield school profile that is sent to colleges contains the distribution of grades for that particular class -They also mention the rigor of the courses -
600 level = post-AP/2nd semester college level
700-800 level = second year of college +
xx3 - = Honors level (includes Accelerated, Advanced) for some courses etc
( It is slightly different after 2023 year)
I am sure each school has their profile and grading system, and colleges will evaluate the grade of student along with this profile, not just as a number directly compared with the numbers of other applicants
