Happy winter solstice!

For those of us in the northern hemisphere today is the shortest day of the year and, starting tomorrow, the sun will begin its gradual return to full glory in June.

Historically this has been a day and season of great significance, a time for meditation, contemplation, and planning.

It was a beautiful day in the upper south. I know colder temps & precipitation are just a few hours away, but I’m thankful for the chance to have an enjoyable walk through my neighborhood.

I am looking forward to the days getting longer! More snow coming tomorrow, unfortunately on a day family will be traveling to get here but a white Christmas is always nice.

On a positive note, the days will now get longer and I will light my candles later each night, making them last much longer! We had a lovely, clear day here in New England.

So glad the days will be getting longer now.

It was a beautiful day here in upstate NY, too. Took dogs for a long walk because sunny days have been few and far between lately. Snow/sleet/freezing rain for tomorrow. Bleugh.

Bright Blessings.
