I found this forum about a year later than I should have last year, when my daughter was in the midst of auditioning for a spot as a flute performance major. After the whirlwind of auditions and anxiously awaiting for the mail to come all through April and May, she ended up at the Hartt School at the University of Hartford. I’m happy to check back in and say she landed in great place for her. I know that it’s said many times - by parents and by admissions directors - that it’s about finding a good match between teacher/program and student. I just wanted to give an update that our audition odyssey had a happy end. If any flutists out there have questions about Hartt, I’d be happy to lend my two cents.

That is great BEK! Hartt has some amazing faculty and I’m glad that it’s a good match for your daughter!

BEK-
So glad to hear your d is doing well. My d heard wonderful things about Hartt’s flute program this summer from a counselor at the summer program she attended. We are now in the senior-year-flute-whirlwind. While I will be very glad when this is all over with, the last thing I want is for this year to fly by, like I know it will!
