Harbingers of A Good SAT Lit Score

I want to get a 750+ on the SAT Lit exam.

My SAT CR score hovers in the 750 range. I got a 5 on AP Lang last year. How do you think I’ll do? And what were your SAT CR/AP Lang or Lit/SAT Lit scores?

D1 scored near 800 on SAT lit by studying “How to read literature like a professor”, it was recommended by CC. She is normally a reader and study literature in college.
I don’t remember her reading score, but she did score 2300+ on her SAT 1.
Take a practice test and see how well you score before deciding to take this test. I believe
D1’s first practice test was around 740(?) and she improved to 790(?) without a lot of effort.

Congratulations :)! I’ll check out the book.

IceQube, nice to see you here! :)

Read this, great advice http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-subject-tests-preparation/340613-advice-lit-test-i-scored-800-a.html?highlight=Literature

I’ve finished Read Like Professor. It was indeed a good book, plus Very funny. I’m going to read Read Like Writer and How To Read A Book. I scored 680 on diagnostic test. But, I haven’t read many classic books and poems. Flipping through Barron’s Lit I found poetry is the hardest part for me. So I’m going to read 30+ books from now on until the test in June. Lots of works, I know. And I’m not sure if I can do this. But I’ll try anyway.

I’m sure with a 750 CR and 5 AP lang you won’t have problems on Lit. Just get a prep book, read Lit help books like Read Like Professor, take some practice tests and you’ll be good.

Good luck. Maybe we should start a Lit progress thread this time?

BTW, do you like writing or go to Figment?
