Hard enough difficulty for senior year?

I’m signed up to take
AP Calc
AP Lit
AP Gov/Econ
Physiology 1,2

With two periods off, during which I’ll be interning at a biotechnology company (bioengineering major)
Is this a rigorous enough course load for cal? I only took off two elective classes that would have probably been pointless… Opinions?

Seems pretty rigorous to me. Is the biotech internship something that you’re still trying to get into, or have you been admitted to it already? That internship would be a really good thing for your application and your personal statement, especially because it correlates with your major and demonstrates interest and passion.

Since I transferred into Berkeley, I’m probably not as qualified as others to speak about chances of freshman admission. But, as long as you keep a decent GPA, good SAT or ACT scores, and write some great personal statements, I’d have to guess that your chances are pretty good.

Thanks! Yeah it’s pretty much guaranteed, but that’s good to hear, I’m hoping that seems pretty outstanding as an ec

I’d say the internship definitely demonstrates passion! I’m gonna be a freshman at Berkeley this Fall and, at least looking at my own stats, Berkeley is much more interested in unique students with passions they can demonstrate through extra curriculars, as opposed to just SAT/ACT scores. My standardized test scores were often just in the middle to low range, but I think I showed passion in my essay and my ECs, sooo  I totally think you’re on the right track, especially if you start thinking about your college essay early and put a lot of effort into it!

Good luck :)

Thanks! My scores are on track (2180 sat1) but my gpa is a little lower than average (3.75uw, 4.08 uc) so I’m hoping that my ec’s and essays will show That I have passion and drive
