hardest psat math problems

could you explain the box question?

They take 1 inch off either side of each wall of the box (Reducing the box’s length and width by 2 (from 6 to 4) respectively.

By taking an inch off of the bottom (the black shaded in squares) it lets the sides fold up 1 inch higher.

It was deceptive if you only thought about the numbers.

*Got It Wrong

so what was the actual question?

haha “above average” for a perfect score on the amc…

i just basically think…sat math is meant to be easy and obvious, so if its taking u really long, its much more likely that you’re looking at it the wrong way than you actually not knowing it…
(crap that sentence sounds like something from the writing section)

Yeah, I messed up the cube problem too :stuck_out_tongue: , the mistake everyone made with the 6 x 4 x 4. I can’t believe that I also screwed up on that one thing with 2000 even integers in a row and the largest minus the smallest. ten minutes after i finished the section, i realized i screwed it up (did 2002-2=2000, im a ****in idiot), when it should have been 1998. however, i did get the area of the shaded shape in the square right (18).

And Flare12345neo, which question are you referring to with the running problem? I don’t recall that one. Also, there was another problem which was something like x:y=2:3 and y:z=3:2 or something like that. Did you guys get like 5:6 or 6:7 on that one also? If anyone remembers.
