hardship in interview

i talk about my family hardhsip in the add info sect of the common app but the school i am interviewing with on saturday does not have and add info sect so it was not on my application. when i asked earlier on here about how to present this information, someone suggested talking about it in an interview. i feel like maybe i should because how else is the school going to know and it has a lot to do with my high school experience, but i feel like it might be weird/awkward to bring it up. what do you think?

If the hardship is something that shows how you can overcome challenges, bring it up – not in a way to try to elicit pity, but in a way to show that if the college invests in you by accepting you, you have the strength of character to rise to the challenge and be a very productive member of that campus community.
