That’s a bit over the top considering you do not know her at all IRL.
Most pregnant women you know are probably not posing for pictures, but it far from uncommon in my own experience. Why anyone cares where she puts her hands is beyond me.

Well I for one cannot believe she holds her hands that way…too bad the royal family wasn’t informed in time to bar the wedding. Just shocking, shocking I tell you.
Also quite short and petite. From mid-second trimester not only did I need to hold my huge belly for support while upright, I had to sleep on the couch and position myself so belly was propped by the back of the couch. My mother tried to get me to use a support garment, but anything the least bit constricting was just impossible.
Frankly I find it charming when expectant mothers cradle their babies before birth, and can’t help believing the babies feel the love.
FWIW, ET just said the flowers from the shower (and there were a lot) were donated to charities afterward.
Looks like the standard price for that suite is $75K/night. No mark-up for Markle here. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-09-28/mark-hotel-penthouse-most-expensive-hotel-room-at-75-000-a-night
I doubt the Queen wants any member of her family emulating the Kardashians in any way!<<<<<<<
Like the Queen is in charge LOL. It is about staying relevant. The Kardashians are super successful at monetizing negative press. The vitriol as some see it is a testament to the success of this deal with the devil. it is publicity, period. It is what MM is practically trained for.
Taped glasses remind me of Harry Potter before he met Hermoine, who fixed his glasses.
Well, she was doing it before she hardly showed. Just an observation, and it’s the first thing I’ve ever mentioned about her that wasn’t glowing.
I wonder it is protective. sort of an unconscious way of protecting her baby.

How sweet!
Actually, the arrangements were reportedly broken down and distributed to hospitals by a company named Repeat Roses; Repeat Roses fees start at about $1800. They are not a charity :))
Well, @momo2x2018 - guess ya gotta take that up with ET. They are the ones that reported that the flowers were donated to charity. Since its not likely Meghan or her guests would be personally delivering the flowers to hospitals, guess there is a cost to hiring someone else to do it. Its still a very sweet gesture and if they paid someone to do it for them, thats fine by me.
@momo2x2018 - Where did you get the $500K figure you posted in post # 46? I read they spent around $200K, with a big chunk going to the penthouse rental. While its way over most people’s budget, what’s wrong with someone spending money to do something nice for someone else, whether it be for Megan Markle or to recycle flower to hospitals? Not sure why there is a problem with either of these gestures.
Repeatroses.com breaks down floral arrangements from events and makes them into bedside-sized bouquets that are delivered, free, to hospital and hospice patients. Yes, they charge a fee to the event organizers, but that doesn’t take away from the lovely idea of using flowers that would otherwise be trashed to bring some happiness to patients who can use a bit of happiness, or the smart execution this company accomplishes. “Donated to charity” in this case is shorthand for “donated to patients.” Some kind soul, probably a wealthy kind soul, paid to make this happen with Meghan’s baby shower flowers. Good for him/her. I think it’s sweet, and great!
Do hospitals even allow flowers anymore?
Yes hospitals allow flowers. And therapy dogs too.
The distribution of the flowers is such a sweet and kind idea. It baffles me why some are looking for negatives in the story of this shower. Good grief.
Why wouldn’t hospitals allow flowers? I volunteer in a hospital and there are dozens of flower deliveries daily, in addition to our giftshop selling them to visitors.
As the spouse or father and general trash manager of two flower-mad women, I can testify that disposing of used flowers in bulk is no fun. I don’t doubt that an organization that recycles flowers could and would charge event organizers for the service. If they were throwing the flowers out, they would be paying through the nose for that, too.
There are people on this forum who talk about weddings that cost roughly the same as what we paid for our first house. That’s way outside our means, but I don’t begrudge them their style of entertaining. It would be unrealistic for me to expect people whose income is far higher than ours to have the same type of events that we do. I hope Meghan and her friends had a good time at the shower and that she has an uneventful pregnancy.
LOL I was listening to the radio on my way in to work and one of the radio people commented on the photos where she is always holding her belly and something about flaring out her coat to show off her bump. One thought was that she was being protective of her baby bump (perhaps unconsciously) when so many photographers were around. I can’t say it was something I noticed, but certainly others have!!
Between the negative comments, stories, and family drama gone wild, I feel for Meghan. Harry, too. They cannot enjoy the opening days of their marriage and the coming birth in the way most of us do. There’s something vicious in the air, as if people are piling on in gleeful anticipation of her fall. I don’t give a flip about her wardrobe, spending, stomach holding/scratching/displaying, or character but don’t wish to see a fellow human relentlessly hounded in this way, especially at such a vulnerable point in time.
