I’m seeing it tonight, but just have to know now…where in the story did this one end?

Quote from the UK:

“hands down the best potter movie yet! I already want to go see it again”

We saw it at an IMAX theater with the biggest screen, it was amazing. We also got to see it at 6:30 for which I am so very happy.

It was really great, dark, but great. I don’t know if you could have followed it so well if you haven’t read the book. I personally loved the ending, thought it was very simple but strong. I know it’s only the ending to part one but I still really liked it. It was mostly a quick 2 1/2 hours, my husband didn’t even get up to go to the bathroom which is a record for him.

Everyone wants to see it again so I guess we’ll go sometime in the beginning of December when the crowds die down a bit.

WHOAH!!!
Do you want to alert to a spoiler please!!!

rom828, I didn’t see it but my college kids did. I believe it ends at Shell Cottage. Hopefully that’s enough info if you’ve read the book, and if you haven’t it doesn’t give too much away.

D saw it last night at the IMAX in Times Square. D and all her friends dressed up as characters from the movie and the pictures she posted of all of them looked great.

She loved the movie and felt it followed the book pretty well.

H and I will see it on Sunday.

Odd woman out.

Haven’t read any HP books, nor have I seen any of the movies. H and D do that. I let it be becasue it is the ONLY thing they bond about, I kid you not.

I haven’t read any of the books, either. Like gloworm, it is something my son not only bonds with his dad about, but also, his grandfather. It is actually one of the few books my son will read. He is more of a video gamer, and I was always disappointed with how fast he read the Potter books. I thought he should savor them and get more out of them.

I do go with the guys to see the movies, but usually, it’s on a Friday night, and I invariably sleep through them.

This year, son is a freshman in college. He went with friends Friday night to see the movie. I accompanied Dad Saturday afternoon to see the latest.

I enjoyed this one the most, probably because I did not sleep through it, but not having read the books, I enjoyed the movie as its own story, rather than whether or not it followed the books exactly, which seems to be a point of contention among Potter fans.

H and I saw it today and both really liked it. I think fans of the books (we all read them in our family) like that they have chosen to do the last book in two parts so that we get more of the story itself in the movie.

We saw it yesterday outside of US. I heard it was very hard to get tickets. We were able to get tickets because we wanted to see it in English, native language were completely sold out for days. Apparently people were standing in line for hours to get tickets on Thu night. H and D2 really enjoyed it, I was a bit lost.

I thought they did a very good job with the movie. They managed to take a pretty complex story and pare it down to the essential parts. They couldn’t put everything in and I thought they made good choices about what to exclude. I am looking forward to the last one.

I saw it today with my family. The theatre was half empty (but it was showing on in at least 6 of the 12 rooms at our multiplex. We loved the movie (despite People magazine’s lukewarm review). Even my husband, who never read the books, said that the 2 1/2 hours flew by and he would have had no trouble sitting for an additional 2 1/2 hours (to see part 2 if that had been an option). There were a few minor changes from the book (they don’t disquise Harry at the wedding, they don’t mention the crumple horn thing, they leave out quite a few details) but, they stayed true to the story and I loved the movie for it. The actors have really gotten much better at their parts (especially Harry/Daniel, who I felt was quite wooden in the first 5 movies). I give it two thumbs up.

My daughter saw it in London also. Lucky girls, no?

I liked it too, though I thought eMMA/HERMIONE A LITTLE TOO THIN. (sorry for caps). I bought seats a week go, so no problem. Our theatre has an upstairs with big seats. Children are not allowed in after 2 pm. Unfortuntely, no one in costumes. The ushers said the midnight show was amazing with the fans.
