Yeah, it’s fine. As I said earlier, the admissions office is probably currently closed for winter break, but once they re-open they’ll update everyone’s files with the new SAT scores.

ok, thanks. I’m just worried that College Board hasn’t sent it out yet since it still says “reports are pending”

@ Mentos: Thank you so much for your response and kind wishes :)

Hey, I asked a q. in the Yale thread about additional recs and Mentos said that Harvard and Columbia aren’t fond of them and if you do submit them they should be in by the 1st.

So, what did you guys do? Did you submit an additional rec to Harvard? If so, should it really be in by the 1st and what are the consequences of not doing so?

^ I sent my extra rec long time ago ( like 1.5 week ago ), and it should be in, but I don’t know if it’s processed yet.

@xandra48
Hi xandra, I had the same ordeal concerning the two teacher evaluations and secondary school report. I also emailed them and received an automated response. So I waited about a week and the report and the teacher evaluations had been processed. My advise would be to be patient and wait for your materials to be processed. Best of luck!

Ok, this might seem like a stupid question, but I need to make sure:
I’m going to mail in my recs/sec school report today in one envelope - should I mail it using the rush mail, ‘guaranteed’ mail or regular mail? Rush gets there faster, but is more expensive and needs someone to sign for it. Guaranteed is just so it doesn’t get lost, and is my #1 option right now, but someone needs to sign for it as well. Would the signing be a problem for the admissions office?

On a second note, my common app forms (printed) don’t have my common app ID on it, but my name and stuff match my online profile exactly. They’ll still be matched to my online profile, correct?

I got mine about 2 days after submitting my common app, but that was in early November. It will probably take longer now since a lot of people are submitting closer to the deadline

Signing is a problem, because of the large mail volume. Send it by regular mail. The system used to sort the materials is quite efficient. If they haven’t received something, you’ll have plenty of time to resubmit.

Well I kept a copy of everything I sent but I sent it with signing, today. I guess if it’s a problem I’ll resubmit, but I can’t imagine that they’d reject my application just because one envelope needs to be signed… I’ll call the admissions office when they open just to make sure.

@Viggy

“Harvard aren’t fond of additional recs” is an overgeneralization… They are not fond of a third teacher rec but if you are say a Musician or an Athlete then a letter from your music teacher or coach would not be seen as superfluous because they are in essence different from academic teacher recommendations. I doubt there is a hard deadline other than the normal application deadline.

^

I dunno, I think they just say it to discourage people from sending in five, six recommendations. I sent in three teacher recs (I’m not a musician or athlete) to Yale and got in EA, though of course Harvard isn’t Yale.

^If you conduct a research project, H and Y are more than glad to have a mentor recommendation.

^I didn’t submit research of any kind.

siiiigh 90 more days … …

Finally clicked that “submit” button. Apparently strong coffee makes you want to hit submit buttons lol.
So much time spent thinking about it and it all comes down to this!

GOOD LUCK FELLOW CC-ERS!

I need to stop procrastinating on my additional essay. I hope to get all of my supplements done today except for the two that aren’t due tomorrow.

Congrats to everybody who’s submitted :)

I can’t believe I suddenly disliked a paragraph in my essay and now I am changing it. = =

I printed out a postage label yesterday, so it says Dec 30, but won’t be able to drop off my CD until Monday… hopefully they won’t be too ****ed.
