Harvard admission

Getting into harvard may be your dream, but understand this, the tuition is very high, acceptance rate is low, education there is very competitive and it is not really worth it. go to a college where your major can be realized. harvard is just a name.

Is this helpful or

Not really worth it? Harvard grads have some of the best alumni networks in the world. They are top feeders into highly ranked graduate programs and high paying/prestigious jobs (law, finance, politics. Many of the world’s most rich and powerful went to Harvard. A name is worth it and the tuition isn’t high because they give full aid.

Maybe it’s “just a name” for those who care only about the reputations of the colleges they apply to. But some are looking for a particular student body, and Harvard might be right for them. I didn’t apply to Harvard, but I know that it has a distinct environment that genuinely interests its applicants, just like every university does.

You can go anywhere in the world and say you were educated at Harvard and the respect you receive will be very high. That is why immigrant parents are so keen on getting their children to go to Harvard. You can’t go to Africa or South Asia or Australia and say “Hey, I went to Vanderbilt” and expect people to know what the hell you are talking about. Even here in America, if you say you went to Harvard that’s like automatically getting the job. People will always deny it because they did not get into Harvard or refuse to believe that it’s true smh

what i am trying to say is, harvard is the name, the education is good. But there is always a catch, you will need to work harder and pay more back (financial aid is paid back).People know harvard a lot, but, i think you should attend the college you like and not the college with a name, there are a lot of jobs out there, unless you want to be a cashier, you will have one.

@1daniell‌ (re post #5): All Harvard undergraduate financial aid is need-based and much does NOT require repayment. Where do you get your information?

Not if you want top finance/law/politics jobs. Harvard will give you a very big boost.
