That GPA seems a bit low.
Rolling my eyes right now. Sorry, it’s just that there is no possible way that we will be able to tell you whether or not you will get into these schools. Their admissions percentages are crazy low and they turn away thousands of “qualified” candidates every single year. I’ve been there too and I’ve been guilty of making these threads, but really the best that we can do is just be good students and emphasize your best qualities and achievements when applying.
OP didn’t ask for a crystal-ball-accurate prediction of the future. They asked if they have a chance. Which of course they do; they have the grades and the test scores.
Definitely apply! Just know that after clearing the bar of “qualified,” it’s pretty impossible to predict who will get in and who won’t. You have a chance, which is all anybody can ask for, really.
GPA may be a little low. But it’s hardly inconceivable. It’s good that you’ve started on your essays. At these schools, the essays can give the admissions committee a glimpse into who you are, and with a little luck, they’ll like who they see.
Eagle Scout means a lot. Competitive.
The only people who I’ve seen that had a good chance at these schools were Intel Finalists. Otherwise, you need to have stellar essays and get lucky with the admission readers.
Your GPA is low for stanf/harv, and would probably need a hook to make up for it.
You have a shot just like all the other qualified applicants. That doesn’t mean anything though because most people who apply are extremely qualified. I’d say you’re probably going to have a tough time with HYPS like anybody but the other ivies are a bit more possible. Who knows tho. i’m just a cynical senior who is extremely bitter about the whole college process after going through it and seeing many qualified friends get rejected from the big names like Harvard haha but as cynical as I may be, I do have a very recent and fresh perspective
