Admissions is going to take one look at your English subscore and wonder, if accepted, will you be able to do the work – will you be able to read and write in English with proficiency. Is English your first language? If not, have you taken the TOEFL?

I have veryyyyy similar stats lmao all the business and google and all that. I feel like we’re clones! But I have lot more profit  and celebrity affiliations and InternationaL DECAAAA. But you got me on the charity you made.

I want to say you have an awesome chance, becuase then I would have an awesome chance, but in all honesty you have awesome chances lol, and we’re a little different so dont worry.

The English score is below their 25% tile, they will take note of that

What was your ACT writing score? You need to take the ACT with writing. I hope you did both times. Your AP Eng and USH scores or 5 helps somewhat, btw, with any concerns about your English comprehension ability.

I think you have a very good shot. Very good ECs, it also helps that you’re minority. Good luck! Chance me back? :)

Oh, I see you are taking the ACT in 10 days for the second time. MAKE SURE IT IS WITH WRITING!

@StephanieThomas. Op is a Filipino (technically Asian-Pacific Islander)…East Asians (Koreans, Chinese, Japanese) and South Asians (Indians, Pakistanis, et al) are considered over represented minorities (ORM)…Filipinos, on the other hand, historically have been clumped under the umbrella of Asian-Pacific Islanders…and certain Pacific Islanders are considered under represented compared to East and South Asians…but it is hard to say whether Filipinos are considered under represented minority (URM) in the traditional sense…to get the “boost” that one is looking for…only the admissions committee is “privy” to that information…since most colleges like to keep that kind of information “close to their vest”…

Sorry forgot to put my writing score. I got a 10 lol

Okay so i got my act scores back for october, I got a 34 in English and the same for Math and Science. I got a 24 in reading though (Confident it was a bubbling error, I don’t fill them all in until the end, somewhere i moved up the answers) UGHH what do i dooo!!!

Your first ACT is higher (ACT 33 Composite (28E, 36M, 34R, 33S), so submit your first set of scores and hope for the best! Beyond that, I hope your list contains a broader range of choices besides just HYP – schools where you may have a more realistic chance of acceptance.

I did i applied to 15 schools (Got into 6 that had rolling), 5 Ivies and Stanford included. Stanford I have a hook with my grandpa being a former Dean, and my 20 year old cousin the number one and youngest student in their med program. Still Harvard is my top choice, do you think I have a shot at all? Is my application at least competitive?

I couldn’t predict that my daughter would be rejected from Princeton and Yale but would be accepted to Harvard. Nor could I predict that my son would be rejected from Harvard but accepted to Yale and Princeton. If I couldn’t predict what would happen with my kid’s applications, then I certainly can’t predict what will happen with yours. For that reason, I don’t do chances, as I’m not a good prognosticator. Best of luck to you!

timmaka: as bright as you appear to be, please don’ t filter what Gibby says. All you can hope for is to be a viable candidate. Good news for you, that’s what you appear to be.

**No one can chance you. ** That’s a fool’s errand. You want to look at an echo chamber? go to the “Chance Me” forum – a bunch of 16 and 17 year olds pretending to know what’s valued by selective colleges.

Does that appear to lack common sense to you? Good – it should. Sadly, the posters there don’t seem to get that.
