Harvard Class of 2009

Congratulations fellow acceptees! I thought it would be nice to have a thread where we could congregate and celebrate! Feel free to discuss any and all issues, future Harvardites!

P.S. Anyone and everyone is invited to participate so post away!!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Congrats to you too!!!

I AM SO PSYCHED!!! OH MAN!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

OMG!!! I’m so ecstatic (((and surprised))). I feel soooooooooooo darn honored and just, ugh. I’m completely overwhelmed.

I’m proof that you don’t have to have straight As and a 1600 to get into Harvard. But I was dedicated to my passions, and made sure that my dedication came through in my essays, recs, supplementary resume—everything. I’m so happy. If you would’ve asked me, in tenth grade, what college I was thinking of going to, I would’ve said: “Not Harvard. I’ll never get in.” The fact that going to Harvard is a tangible possibility for me now is, well, I can’t put it into words. I’m soooooo happy.

CONGRATS CLASS OF '09!!! HUGS AND ICE CREAM FOR EVERYONE!!!

Modest Mouse!!! You Were Accepted!!! (((hug)))

Go Harvard '09 Drum Majors!!!

Omg Omg Omg Omg Omg

Congrats all! I’m just as surprised as anyone - and if you couldn’t tell by my name Alto Saxophone improv is my passion.

Nice! Two sexy sax players accepted to harvard! Awesome job, congratulations!

Congrats, Saxfreq!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I’m so happy.

Future Harvard Band Members, eh? Two sax players and a clarinetist(me) already.

Modestmouse-didn’t we say something way back about hanging out at prefrosh weekend? Now we get to!

Mahnomahn, you’re right!

Let’s get together and smoke some beers.

How exactly do you smoke beer?

maybe (s)he was drunk while (s)he wrote that?

I’m only joking. I neither drink nor smoke but it’s an ass-kicking saying. I suggest using it liberally.

But anyhow, LETS PAH-TAY LIKE IT’S 2009.

. . . is anyone still as surprised as I?

RDer here with a question: since Harvard is nonbinding EA, are any of the accepted applicants still unsure if they will be attending Harvard?

I get more surprised as the day goes on.

Wonka-I’d say I’m 90% sure I’m going to Harvard. If I get into Stanford, I’m going to pre-frosh weekend, and that could possibly lure me away. The only other possibilities are if I get one of the 10 full scholarships to Duke, or if somehow I have a huge change of heart and NEED to play football, so I go to Amherst.

Hey! Congratulations everybody!

Jubilation! They somehow wanted me! I fall on the floor and I’m laughing!

It’s just so surreal. I called my grandparents; their pride and elation was the best part of it. It’s such an honor to be accepted. I called my family and closest friends and they’re screaming in glee too. I feel so blessed right now!

Congrats Harvard Class of '09!!

I’ll be seeing you across town ;)
