Harvard Class of 2029 Official Thread

Does anybody know anyone who’s gotten into Harvard w/o an interview? What about internationals? Just holding out for some hope

In my area at least ive been told its based on availability, and I talked to an interviewer about the whole process and he told me it’s not as big of a deal as people make it out to be, he said there were a lot of people he really recommended who did not get acceptance and vice versa, i think the interviews dont carry as much weight as we expect, although this is just for US interviews idk about international and i could just be spouting bs

not a chance to get in without interview i think

Not true. I spoke to an AO at a Harvard Stall event thingy, and when I asked how much the interview matters, they said, quote, “It literally does not matter.” That being said, a pretty solid proportion of the admitted class got them, so we will see! But def not like Yale where no interview is basically rejection.

there was someone who went to harvard for summer and asked if internationals get in without interview, and the admission officer said not possible

But, what if an intl applicant lives in a remote area or an area where even hundreds/thousands of kilometers away, there is no alumni availability?

Would you say it is a bad sign if people at my school got an interview but I didnt? Expecting a rejection but I’m just wondering.

I dont think interview has that much effect as I have seen countless people who had excellent interviews but got rejected

That’s Intl, I was discussing domestic, my apologies.

Same happened at my school. Some got 1, some got none, some even got 2 (alumni then AO). I don’t want to make any claims as there are other members on the forum who are much more qualified to discuss it

YES USSS
We will

just a question, my area tends to be an area of undercoverage for ivy league alumni. there are probably 40-50 from my school who applied to ivy league level schools, the only schools that people got interviews from were penn, mit, and princeton as far as i’m aware. would the lack of interviewing accept students acceptance to these top tier schools?

Is the checklist gone for most people?

checklist is still there for me

also there
