Harvard/Columbia Admissions Question

I have a question maybe one of you could answer. When I was in High School I did PSEO for two years and performed rather poor in my second year (my cumulative GPA for the 2 years of PSEO was around 2.5), however since being admitted to my 4 year college (University of Minnesota) I have maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA. Based off of my practice tests I’m also expecting a mid 170 LSAT score.

Now due to my poor PSEO performance and the unfortunate fact that they are included in my law school application I’m expecting the numbers to look like this:

UG: University of Minnesota - Twin Cities (Graduating with honors)
G.P.A: 3.39ish (I’ve had a perfect 4.0 since attending my 4 year institution)
LSAT: 172-175ish
Majors: Philosophy & Political Sciences

Do I have any realistic chance of acceptance to Harvard Law (I’m not sure if this factors in but my father went there) or Columbia (Or any of the other top schools for that matter)? Will the top schools take notice that the poor performance was during my High school years and that I’ve had a perfect GPA since attending my four year college? More importantly should I be contacting admissions to discuss this with them personally?

Looking for input!!

Ouch that sucks,

Don’t leave it up to them to figure it out. Write an addendum saying why you did that program and why you ultimately didn’t do so hot. Ask them to consider only your true undergraduate record.

It will help, but that said, your lsac gpa is what they have to report for their stats, which is still bad.

If you score mid170’s I think Columbia is a possibility. Harvard I have no idea because of your father, but normally 3.3/173 is not H material. Hell, 3.3/178 isn’t either.
