harvard dream or reality

hi
i am going to be a junior this year. i havent taken the act before i am going to take it this october i am a straight a student my gpa is 4.0 i rank #1 in my class every time i participate in volleyball, tennis and golf i was also very good at debate i have 50 hrs of community service my dream is to go to harvard now my question is that is my dream realistic would i be able to? and how much of a role does my ACT score play in it?
thanks

well, a 32+ is pretty much required, preferably a 34, 35, 36 is needed (which isn’t unlikely)… more community service couldn’t hurt… your athletic events look pretty good… from what i’ve seen, the people have to do something really important, something that makes them stand out in their state, or preferably, the national community… but, some people do get in based solely on their school academic record (and extracurriculars) along with athletics and community service… keep in mind that no matter what, the acceptance is 9%… i think if you can get a 32 on your first time, you have a shot into Harvard… a 34+ gives you more hope… i would say that based on your academic record, your ACT should be pretty good (at least 32 if your #1 and have a 4.0)

and remember, on your first ACT, it will most-likely be your lowest score… my first try – 30… my fifth try – 35… so if you don’t do as well as you’d like, keep taking it… that “magic” test will be in there somewhere

post your ACT in this thread when you find out your score, and i can maybe see if it can become more of a reality… but seeing as your academics are pretty good, your ACT should be too… so you could very well have a shot to get into Harvard if you give it your all
