Nah, that was a rumor that was going around before. Now, the new rumor is that the email date is the 14th. And when I called Harvard, they told me that letters would be sent out on the 15th.

But then again, I don’t trust the receptionists too much.

B in french junior yr (my school averages the entire yr, doesnt break it up into semesters), and im looking at 3 Bs for this semester if i dont bring it up.

i’d say considering your AI, having a B in french shouldn’t cause too much concern…unless, of course, you were going to major in french or you had your french teacher write a rec that talked about how stellar you were in that class.

and if you get in EA to harvard, then havings some Bs for first semester wouldnt be the end of the world, either.

hooks? already fundraised and now starting a $1,000 at my school, volunteer at Vocational Center for Mentally disabled, 800+ community service, 6 hour a week job

EEK! My friend is EA. He’s nearly killing himself now. I wish I shared the same anticipation…I feel left out. I won’t get anything until April. How depressing.

You guys are so awesome. I wish I had your stats.

I have heard rumors that decisions might come out as early as the 10th. Has anyone else heard this? I know that they are officially released on the 14th, but is there any possibility of getting them earlier?

I don’t know; Columbia, Cornell and UPenn (correct me if I’m wrong) are already officially stating that by December 10, they will be releasing their decisions via e-mail or website. I don’t see why Harvard can’t do it…

On another thread in this forum, several people called Harvard, and they said that it would be the 14th at 5:00 pm, I think. Is it possible that they just say the 14th to give them extra time if they can’t make the 10th?

I seriously hope that this is the case; I want to know as soon as possible.

Amen to that, collegeperson. I’d like to join in the ecstatic/depressed mix of feelings with my other friends that will be getting their decisions 12/10.

Hey guys, I have a question: Does anyone know how the admission process @ Harvard works? For example, I know at Columbia the US is divided into regions ( within states) and classfied as “reject”/“accept”/“defer” and then passed along to another reader who spends little time looking over the application. Finally, for those whose application is still debated, the file is read by the admissions department. Again, I stress this is Columbia’s process, not Harvard. So if you have an idea 'bout this, don’t hesitate to post!

Do the various colleges work ~on the same time schedules?

What I mean to say is: MIT is going MAIL its decisions on this Saturday. Considering that both MIT and Harvard had the same deadline, isn’t it safe to assume that, by Saturday, Harvard will also have finalized and mailed its acceptance letters? And we all know that the emails come a couple of days before they send the mail.

I think finding out on the 10th just might be a possibility.
