Harvard Engineering/Premed

Does Harvard treat premeds who do engineering at H (or anywhere else) different than those who take a more traditional route. I ask this because I’m very interested in engineering (and Harvard) but I know that most eng. programs at any school are notorious for being harsh on the GPA.

Premed is an advisory track. You aren’t treated special. Whether you go on to apply to med school or Law school, you’ll be treated the same.

But why H for engineering? There are engineering programs at others schools of better renown than H.

I was just curious about Harvard specifically.

Like most schools, yes, our engineering classes are difficult and often give lower grades than other classes. I’m not sure what you’re asking beyond that. It’s pretty rare to be a premed and an engineer, except perhaps in BME.

I apologize for the vague post. I was simply wondering if BME majors at Harvard find the eng and pre med reqs to be doable. In other words, do those individuals have success in the med school app process? Or would it be easier to maintain a higher GPA doing a typical premed major like bio, neuroscience, chem, etc.?
