Harvard Enrollment Protections

If around 1650 new students enroll each year at Harvard, how many likely come from these five protected groups: recruited athletes, legacies, donor prospects, children of Harvard employees, and z-listers? And, does that total amount to around 825 students; or roughly half of those matriculating at Harvard each year?

Typically, the Harvard Crimson publishes fairly granular detail each year on some but not all of your questions.

None of the above categories separately nor in toto would approach half of the class. The Ivy League limits the number of athletic recruits. My understanding is that most Ivies do not approach the limit. There are overlaps between larger categories - legacy and recruited athlete, so taking the data and simply adding would overestimate the total.
