Harvard Extension - Should I omit it?

I took a course and I only got 85%

This is an accredited college course and I was the youngest by far in the class.

Should I omit this grade or include it in my application? i.e would it hurt or help me.

Not sure where you’re coming from, but an 85% in a college course is good by any standard. What letter grade is that?

I’m coming from Canada if you meant geographically :P

I was under the impression an 85% will look bad on my Cornell application. So this is untrue?

You’re from Canada so I assume you took this course online? Or did you physically take it in a classroom?

The only way Cornell will accept college credit from HS students is if the course was taught by a professor from the college.

An 85% is usually a solid B. Have you discussed this issue with your guidance counselor?

this was taught by a professor at Harvard Extension. I simply watched video lectures and took 2 proctored examinations + homework (which hurt me).

hmmm…first, if you know which college(s) you are going to apply to I’d call the registrar and ask if Cornell will even accept the credit. Then, I would discuss this issue with your guidance counselor.

I want to apply ED to Cornell engineering and I know they would accept it (I asked them) however I’m wondering if this mark would hurt or help me.

Do you think I can add you on AIM and ask you questions occasionally?

Dewdrop… Cornell needs to start paying you to answer all of these questions!

Cayuga what do you think? Will it hurt me?

haha…they should…or at least apply the credit toward my loan repayment.

I’ve just had waaaaay to much time on my hands these past 2 weeks…thank god I start work on Monday!

In New Orleans?

No…I’m at my home in Cooperstown working at a lab.

I start at Tulane on October 1, but I’m not sure when I’m heading down…it mostly depends on when my mom gets a job.

There are labs in Cooperstown? At SUNY-Oneota?

Nope…Bassett Research Institute…it’s part of Bassett Hospital

Ashika,

What course did you take? My daughter has looked at some of the online classes, so it would be great if you could tell us what the class was like for you. I think you should be getting an official transcript from Harvard Extension, and I would have thought it would have the grade listed as an A, a B, or whatever. As someone already mentioned, an 85 seems quite solid for a college course. In college, 85% is not necessarily a solid B – it is often an A.

Wow. I never realized Cooperstown was so small. I always thought it would have at least 10,000 residents.

Haha. Latest population count was 2,032 and declining.
