<p>Liberal leadership at a time when Harper is strengthening his government doesn’t mean much, and especially when one only has the support of 31 out of 102 MP’s. </p>

<p>That being said, Ignatieff’s success as leader of Canada’s traditional ruling party will depend on the public’s acceptance of him as more than just an overambitious academic from the States. He may very well win the leadership contest, but he may very well have a short rule. As short as Howard Dean’s should have been, anyway. </p>
