Harvard housing - Jordan South?

My understanding is that Jordan South is a smaller separate house that is officially part of Pfoho, but geographically closer to Cabot. Does anyone know anything about it? Is it a plum assignment with particularly desirable accommodations or the House equivalent of not only being exiled to Siberia, but to an island off Siberia?

Jordan South is at the corner of Shepard and Walker Streets, directly across the street from Eliot (part of Cabot?). Probably quiet, and only a stone’s throw from the quad.

It’s actually a rather beautiful place, at least at inside. The rooms and spacious and clean–the only drawback of course, is that it doesn’t quite feel like it’s part of the university and like some apartment off campus.

D says that the rooms are awesome - very large and very nice and with their own kitchens. She was envious. It’s located sort of at Pfoho’s back door. Jordan South only a short walk to the Pfoho dining room.

I agree with both WindCloudUltra and coureur’s comments. JS is absolutely awesome. You feel like you’re living in a paradise of sorts at times. JS actually has a common room with a big plasma television, and each suite has a kitchen. My friend who just graduated (07 alum) actually elected to live in JS instead of the main House because he liked JS so much.

D is moving in there in a couple of weeks. Hardwood floors, 3 large singles, large common room, kitchenet, big windows, cable TV, all in suite. It was her first choice (junior year).

Sounds cool. Bandit, my D is moving in there at the same time as yours - I’m sure they’ll get to know each other well!

I heard from someone that they are also rented out to grad students. Is this true?

Probably during the summer? Because there are only pfoho ppl there during the semester…

There is a neighborhood in Minneapolis called Jordan South. It’s very … unsavory.
