It means “after high school ended” (unless there was something really major that happened towards the end of high school, which, if you’re still in undergrad or not too long out, you might also include). Think of it this way: when high school seniors ask this question in regards to undergrad apps, they’re generally told “Start with 9th grade unless you happen to have won the Scripps Spelling Bee in 8th.” I’d say the same very basic advice applies. No, HLS does not want a list of your high school activities.

Hi all – does anybody have any information on what the phone calls from Dean Stock might entail/signify?

I’m wondering about this too…

There’s some discussion on LSD- it seems e-mails are going out. I believe it means to expect a call from Dean Stock.
5 pages of discussion on LSD for this cycle. Last years discussion had over 200 pages- so I guess you could check it out. It seems that we are at a very early stage of the e-mails going out.

sometimes I wonder if all this Instant info is a good thing. I think it just tends to make everyone a bit crazy.

I’m kinda glad my kid doesn’t go to these boards. I act as her filter and pass along only the “need to know info”.

Yeah, probably won’t end up at LSD’s boards if they’re already this insane. I figure I’ll call back and we’ll see what happens.

EDIT: So I decided to go check it out anyway. As of the fifth page, there’s no useful information on there. Just a bunch of kids freaking out.

Much better information here.

So apparently Dean Stock will call about 1000 students for an eventual 800 admissions to get a class of about 550.

To the best of knowledge, HLS does not admit students without a phone “interview.”

(Source: Gossip on LSD.)

some of the gossip on LSD is pretty accurate!

Blue- I never asked- are you going through the Law school application process now? You’ve been real helpful and have passed along good info, but I just realized, I don’t know if you are now applying to Law School.

I wish you good luck with whatever plans you have.

I realize that as my d gets closer to law school applications, I will try to give less personal info out as you really never know who is reading these boards.

but best of luck to you and to EVERYONE who is now applying!!

ALSO- get those applications out ASAP. More gossip from LSD, Georgetown and UCLA are already beginning to send out acceptances.
marny

Hi Marny – yes, applying as we speak. Thanks for the well-wishes.
