We received one of two that Harvard should have sent our son. Still trying to track down the other one.

We have not received ours from Harvard, but have received the one from S1âs college. The blocking group discussion is very informative. I have a typical boy who does not discuss this sort of thing with me. When do they have to decide on their blocking groups?

Healthy99, We received the 1098T a couple of weeks ago, and we are overseas. I am surprised that you did not receive one by now, unless it is tied up in the winter mess.

curious: here are the details of the Freshman Housing Lottery.

Thank you for the replies.

Ronsard-mâaimait, we are not overseas. We called Harvard Wednesday, we were told 1098T had been sent last week. We still havenât received it today.

healthy99, We, too, have yet to receive the 1099T.

Sorry, I made a mistake. The 1099T we received was for a distance learning class, not from Harvard. So we are still waiting, too. (Our post office said to expect significant mail delays from the east coast.)

There is a waiver form that you fill out that saves as I recall about 650.00. You are requires to keep the university health services which give the students access to the infirmary and basic care - what your private insurance will cover is hospitalization and that is the part you are refunded. This information and the forms will be in the handbook or online. There is a summer deadline for the form. At least this is the procedure when my son was there.

If you child is an athlete, beware of away game schedules. My son was on the golf team and was AWAY for parentsâ weekend.

ws59- Thanks for the link.

Ok, so we are in California and have not recâvd the 1098T yet. Has anyone recâvd theirs? Does it come to the parents home address or does it go to the students address at school?? Thanks in advance

Ours went to daughterâs campus mailbox, she forwarded it.

If anyone asks why Harvard over one of those other schools, look at the talent in the student body. Impressive.

We are not allowed to post YouTube links. Is that right? The trailer for this festival is online and easy to find.

^ Iâve seen Cultural Rhythms in the past; itâs just spectacular. The most interesting part is that people of all ethnicities dance and sing in all different groups - not just that of their own cultures. As an example, it would not be unusual to see someone of Asian descent dancing with the Caribbean Club Dance Troupe. See it if you can!

^Twinmom, The student(s) of Asian descent in the Caribbean Club Dance Troupe could very well be from the Caribbean - and dancing to music that is very much part of their own culture. I am not sure if you know that in some Caribbean islands there are very large populations (upwards of 40%) of people of Asian ancestry.

Not to change the topic, but are there any CC parents who are going to Junior Parents Weekend this coming weekend?

We havenât received the 1098T form, our son only got the W-2 form in his mailbox. Are we the only one hasnât received 1098T form?

no, youâre not the only one. We also have not recâvd anything.

twinmom, a few videos from this yearâs Cultural Rhythms Festival have begun to show up online in the usual places. The âAADT Fire at Cultural Rhythms 2010â clip is beautiful. I would love to see the Asian American Dance Troupe live. At the beginning of the video, you get a few seconds of host and honoree Wyclef Jean jamming with a couple of the bluegrass players. The Harvard Philippine Forum dance performance from Saturday can be found online too. They also gave a wonderful performance.

Today the Boston Globe published a photo of Wyclef with one of the members of the Indian dance troupe.

The Harvard Arts Beat website shows a nice slideshow of photos from the event, and I did identify the back of my sonâs head in one of them! I believe Harvard Arts is a blog, and Iâll not post the link, but it is easy to find.

MSMDAD - Weâre going to be there, although as parents of a sophmore I donât think we will be going to any of the activities (except for the Glee Club/Radcliffe Concert). I downloaded the list of activities and it looks like a lot is going on.

MSMDAD: I think my example was a poor one! Hopefully, you get the gist of what I was trying to say. At any rate, the performances are simply spectacular.
