Harvard is having it’s Arts First (Arts Festival) weekend this weekend. Lots of great performances if anyone has an interest and is able to visit.
We will be there tomorrow and Sunday. On Sunday we will celebrate our daughters 21st birthday. Reading week has begun and the stress levels are high. Hopefully we will be able to distract her for a bit.
GreatKid, yes, I do remember my son’s stress levels rising during reading week. Best of luck to all the students! Nice of you to distract your daughter for a bit.
What did you see at ArtsFirst, @GreatKid? We enjoyed performances by singing groups and orchestras and loved the seesaws in the Yard. I admit to doing a little teeter-tottering myself. 
Oh how fun! I hope we’ll get to experience that one of these years. Especially the seesaws. 
We were in the area during Passover/Easter and got to enjoy a gorgeous day in the Yard, complete with petting zoo. We did get a bit of arts time too by tagging along to our daughter’s friends’ dance and musical performances that weekend.
I hope all our kids are managing the stresses of reading week and finals! @GreatKid, happy 21st to your daughter.
We kept our daughter company while she studied Saturday afternoon, giving her some silent support. Saturday evening we saw a play at Farkus Hall.
Sunday morning we packed up quite a bit of her things to make the bringing her home trip lighter. We attended a Harvard Model Congress tribute to Seniors event and then took our daughter and a group of her friends to dinner.
I will be pleased when this semester is over, it has been an especially demanding one for our daughter. I would like to see her let go of a couple of the EC’s she is involved with.
My wife is graduating this week. Sorry if this has been answered - what time do guests need to line up at Harvard Yard to ensure getting a seat for the morning ceremony. Official info is that the gate opens at 6:30.

Ok… so, dorm rooming have been assigned today! Any suggestions on how the single rooms versus double room assignments are allocated?

Hello there… I had several questions about dorm room assignment… my son received his room assignment. Today and was wondering who receives the single room?
You mean within a suite? The students decide. Usually they rotate the single unless the roommates agree to other arrangements.
Does Anyone know how to find out the dorm layouts? In particular, how do the room numbers map to floors on Holworthy Hall?

skieurope, the students usually rotate a few times a year so everyone has a chance to stay in the single. It worked out just fine with my son and his 2 other roommates.
drshoema, you can google the dorm room layouts. Also, the school will provide this to you if you call.

West Entry:1 to 8
Middle Entry: 9 to 16
East Entry: 17 to 24
The dorm is 4 floors with 2 suites per floor. So the lower numbers of each entry’s series are on the lower floors.
Savi428, they randomly place suitemates together in rooms and then the students usually rotate a few times a year so everyone has an opportunity to be in the single for part of the year. It worked out just fine with my son and his roommates. I would contact them early and arrange something prior to move in.

That’s what I said. 
That said, there have been instances, IME, where the roommates as a group decide not to rotate. But again, it’s up to the kids to decide.
