Harvard RD Class of 2020 Applicant Thread

Oh oops lol, I think the other Ivies do things the same way.

@FiveFactorial Ok thank you!

You’re very welcome

@gibby @T26E4 : Thank you for the clarification!

anyone know what time harvard comes out on the 31???

@bells2016 5 PM EST, as per the Ivy League Agreement.

@orionsagittarius thank you!! I wasn’t sure because Brown told me it would come out at 5:30 EST

@bells2016 Yes, Brown seems to be the only one to do that, in order to maintain the integrity of its servers.

@MohTamer think he graduated last year

I hope everyone has their backup colleges already! I’m getting really anxious, and, well, expecting a rejection.

@brant9297 Same here, only problem, I have been rejected/ waitlisted by my backup colleges :)) :(( They don’t really give much aid to international applicants anyway, so although it hurt, I think the real pain is going to come only on Ivy Day for me :((

Okay, two days left. How are your utilizing your time right now?

Does Harvard accept students who took a gap year to reapply again. I have few friends who have applied after taking a gap year

I’m assuming if you took a Gap year just to reapply to Harvard, they likely won’t accept you.
They likely won’t accept a person in the first place so it’s a waste of time.

Regardless, I’m getting homework done while prepping for a state theater competition. Also examining the merits of my favored school in the highly probable chance I am rejected from every Ivy League school I applied to.

Gibby has pointed out that Harvard keeps a record of past applicants for 3 years in case people decided to take a gap year and reapply. Thus, they would have the comments that adcoms made already on your file. It’s unlikely that you can add anything new to your application and thus, it’s not likely that you will be admitted (not saying it’s impossible though)

Anyone else unfortunately spending their spring break on the Ivy forums? :>

My spring break was last week, but I’ve been browsing the threads for a while. I’M SO NERVOUS. And I just read an article that said that Harvard received a record number of applicants this year, just above 39,000 apparently.

Most likely I’m going to get rejected. So how would transferring work? Aside from sending college transcripts from my first year at a college, would I have to submit an entirely new personal statement and supplement?

Here is the article: http://www.thecrimson.com/article/2016/2/9/record-applicants-class-of-2020/

My spring break ended yesterday so at least I’ll be occupied with Spring term classes and sports. But I’ll still be browsing the forum. @cocoabutter16 I don’t know much about transferring process but it’s very slim as well ~1% because you need to have a specific reason to why Harvard has a particular course or major that the other school doesn’t have and it’s hard to reiterate. Moreover, generally successful transfer applicants are recruit athletes.
