when is sign up for admit weekend due by?
@APersonsHistory They are due by the 7th. If you are a low income student and did not receive an email offering travel assistance you might want to call the office of financial aid.
Just for future reference, I was accepted at Harvard after a deferral and rejected from every other ivy I applied to. If there is a will, there is a way – for any future deferred applicants, have faith! It IS possible!! Harvard 2020!
Congratulations! @JDBoi78
@JDBoi78 - Congratulations!
For all those who did not get in - remember that an IVY is not the only place for education. There are a ton of great schools (many better than an IVY) in this country.
What were your test grades and GPA?
Did anyone take band and still got accepted into Harvard? I have rarely seen anyone who were accepted into Harvard taking band in the results thread.
The posters in the results thread are not a statistical subset of accepted applicants. The answer is, yes, Harvard has accepted applicants who were in band.
I know a boy accepted to the Class of 2020 who was in band.
@legend619, you are making it sound as if being in a band somehow makes you less attractive to any school! If the kid has what it takes (GPA, Scores, APs, ECs, Essays, Recs, etc.) to get into Harvard, why would being in a band stop from getting accepted?
Like @EastGrad , I know of a kid who was in a band that got accepted into Harvard as well. Of course, being a valedictorian with perfect SAT/ACT scores, ton of APs, solid Recs, even more solid research at institutions like MIT/Harvard during high school years, etc., didn’t hurt either.
Just decided to take a peek on this thread…wow, so much has changed. Congrats to all those going to Harvard in the fall!
@legend619 I was in band for a couple of years, I was accepted.
@TurkishApplicant A- gpa and a 30 on the ACT. Very competitive nationally ranked private school.
Congrats!!! What an honor! I’d love to be you, do you mind sharing your sat score and gpa and also I would like to know if you were involved in extra curricular activities that helped you get in. It would mean a lot if you could answer. Thanks
I’m an alum (class of '02)…feel free to ask questions.
Stanford actually has a higher yield than Harvard.
