@snackpack02 since our school is a boarding school and since majority of our seniors board, the teachers would probably walk into the dorms and wake us up from sleep xD so no skip week
@sajidur4 how do you like boarding school? I’ve always thought it seems so fun.
@tuty143 it’s an all boys boarding school… I feel like it’s a very close-knit student body and everyone knows each other. It can be fun, but it has its cons…
@sajidur name the pros and cons. Love how many different people there are here!
@Barcelona17 2340
I go to Catholic school…and I’m Muslim. It’s a wonderful experience.
@tuty143 pros: close-knit, good student-teacher relationship, more memories to share since you’re with each other 24/7, and working together on hw, projects, competitions at school/home.
cons: all boys school… 9 people per dorm flat and each flat has 3 small rooms. There are strict rules such as curfews, after school independent study periods, asking permission before going anywhere, and cameras literally everywhere other than inside the rooms and bathrooms
@tuty143 I mentioned how a girl from our school was accepted to Harvard 2 years ago and then said our school was an all-boys school. Just to clear up, the school recently became all-boys. It used to be co-ed and even then only the boys boarded.
@Sajidur4 My school is an all boys too,…Why have you written it under ‘cons’?
@Barcelona17 I feel like a co-educational environment best prepares one for college social life. Is your school a boarding school?
Well No, but I have studied in a co-ed school till grade 6. I have spent all my adolescence in an all boys. The school doesn’t really make much of a difference right?
@Barcelona17 yeah, not much. I guess it depends more on one’s background and experiences.
Realistically, I don’t think I can make it to Harvard. I want to, but I know I can’t. What about you guys? Leave aside all emotions and make an objective judgement.
If you were in the admissions committee and you had to make a decision on a student with exactly your file, what would you do? I would reject it.
@Barcelona17 I mean, yes, I am aware that Harvard is one of the most competitive schools in the world. I know I probably won’t get in. I didn’t get in when I applied last year as a junior. But, all of us applied because we have some hope… maybe, just maybe it may happen
Considering all the competitive applicants, I would reject mine, too.
yeah,.On Hope the world rests. ^:)^
@Barcelona17 are you in the United states? There’re probably not many people on this thread now because it’s late at night here
No, India. It’s almost 1 pm here. Which part of the US are you from?
@tuty143
Sorry, I have to ask, why are you on the debate team if you hate it so much? And why do you hate it?
In fact, what exactly does a debate team do? I know a little, but not much.
@Barcelona17 east coast, so it’s 2 AM here! My parents are from Bangladesh, so we can consider ourselves neighbors! I was born in the UAE and moved to a Turkish community in the US nearly 10 years ago.
You have such diversity. And diversity is what Harvard wants.
