Can all of you who got accepted please post in the decisions thread?
Deferred… Is it more difficult to get in for RD?
I seriously feel like a piece of crap. I know I shouldn’t but I do. So that’s that.
@QueenN22 Great job! agh I knew you would make it
Same chances as everybody elsein RD 3% @pizza48
Accepted!
I don’t think they differentiate people who apply RD and people who were deferred. It’s just that during the regular round, there are about the same number of spots as early but with so many more applicants.
Same here
Deferrals suck
Hi guys, Harvard senior (class of 2016) here! I realized decisions were being released today and got nostalgic and wondered what chaos was going on in CC… (and I’m also procrastinating on studying for finals).
Just wanted to chime in and say that it will be okay for those who got deferred. Most, if not all, of you guys are star students (because you wouldn’t be posting on CC otherwise) and will end up at amazing schools. I want to emphasize that Harvard is not the be-all and end-all. There are so many other schools that can provide you with what you want, and be even better for your future goals depending on what they are. Seriously, trust me on this one; I’ve now gone through almost the entire Harvard experience, and can 100% guarantee you that Harvard, while an amazing place, is not everything.
I know, I know – it’s going to be rough having to wait another three months to hear back from all your schools, but it’ll pass by quicker than you think. I, too, was deferred SCEA back in 2011 (isn’t that crazy?). I cried, ate my favorite food, got over it, then was unexpectedly accepted RD three months later. (On a related note, I only sent one update – a legitimate one – about an officer position that I was elected to in mid-senior year. I wouldn’t recommend badgering the admissions office with multiple updates and emails. Also, the deferred applicants get admitted at around the same rate as RD applicants.)
Easier said than done, but don’t stress too much. Also, to all the accepted applicants… a huge congratulations!
D-D-Deferred! Stastically, what I was expecting (though of course I prepared the best I could and was certainly hoping for an acceptance). Glad I’m not out of the running, and ready to complete the rest of my applications :P. Congrats to all accepted! For those deferred, keep up hope, but remember Harvard isn’t the most important thing in the world :). To those rejected, that’s ok! Other colleges will be glad to have you I’m sure, and you can succeed wherever you go!
So happy for you!
I still can’t believe I got in! No words.
Just wanted to say I’ve been lurking for a while and a lot of y’all kept me sane the last few days. I got accepted and couldn’t be happier. Congrats to everyone else who got in and good luck to all the deferrals!
@ILoveRoti yup I feel you, best of luck!
I just can’t wait 3 more months for all the decisions. I seriously just can’t keep telling people I don’t know where I am going to school
ACCEPTED!!! I honestly cannot believe it! Thank you God!!
GUYS I STILL DONT KNOW YET ITS KILLING ME. ON MY WAY HOME UGH.
I’m going to leave a note for my future self:
Calm down. Calm down calm down. If you got in, FREAKING CELEBRATE. If you didn’t, so be it. Harvard, in fact college in general, isn’t your whole life. It’s just a way for you to find your place in the world, to get to that spot that makes you happy in life. So calm down. Chill. It’s going to be okay, I promise.
Hi guys! I have been following along these past few weeks but didn’t make an account until now. I got accepted early action!
One thing before I go, for future applicants with crappy SAT scores, don’t let anyone discourage you from applying. Take that from a newly accepted, crappy test-taker.
For those who accepted, I can’t wait to meet all of you guys! Congrats!
For those who got deferred, life sometimes sucks and there’s no way around that. I wish you all the best of luck and I promise you you’ll find your spot somewhere phenomenal.
For those who got rejected, same thing! You WILL find your place.
I still have to study for my chem midterm tomorrow…as I said, sometimes life sucks and there’s no way around that.
I GOT IN I GOT IN I GOT IN I GOT IN I GOT IN
