DOES ANYONE HERE KNOW HOW TO GET AN INTERNSHIP AT SNAPCHAT OR FACEBOOK OR THE UNITED NATIONS OR ANYWHERE GOOD - need help asap and nothing vague like ‘you need rich parents’ but if you could give me a link or email or something that would be amazing.
^^^ Generally, intern positions are listed directly on a company’s website. For example:
DROPBOX: ===>> https://www.dropbox.com/jobs/all and then search for positions with the word “Intern” in them, like this one: ===>> https://www.dropbox.com/jobs/listing/91462
Use Google. That’s what I did! FWIW: Most companies want college students for interns, as it’s a way of seeing if you and the company would be a good match for a job upon graduation. For example, in the above intern position they are looking for a student who is
It’s practically impossible as a high school student to get an intern position, especially at a tech company like Dropbox, Snapchat etc. In high school, during the summers, both my kids were camp counselors, waiters, busboys, file clerks etc. It was only as a rising junior and senior in college that my son and daughter were able to find internships.
this thread is still alive! yay!! good luck @schroscat on the sats!! has anyone pmed numbers for the group chat yet??
@lilypippili I have a few in the group chat right now!
@schroscat okay sending mine over
When you discover there’s a conversion chart for unweighted 4.0 base GPAs…and I don’t have a 3.82…when you actually have a 4.0
I hate myself…
@schroscat What do you mean? You really had a 4.0?
@QueenN22 Yeah! My school gives out number grades and my guidance counselor never informed me of my 4.0 scale GPA…so I thought it was literally a proportion from x/100=x/4. Turns out there’s a conversion chart that I was completely unaware of…haha
@schroscat Hopefully your school sent that conversion sheet with your app!
@QueenN22 I didn’t self-report my GPA so the schools have the 100 scale GPA
/coughs/ We can send in additional information after winter break, right? Like, they’re not going to decide our fates before then if we were deferred…?
@Stephiey yes, you can. They wouldn’t make our decisions yet. The Regular Action deadlines are on January 1, and they start the process again a little later.
@Sajidur4 Kay, thanks!

@KoeyJamm I asked this on the Yale thread also but how is it possible that you applied early both to Harvard and to Yale if they are single choice early action?
I wouldn’t be worried about how your school reports your GPA. The admissions officers look at your actual transcript. They are aware that each school is different. Harvard “de-weights” GPAs in any case.
Has anyone recieved an invite to a Harvard Holiday Party?
Did anyone end up creating a Harvard class of 2020 deferred thread?
I don’t think so @dancingflute . Anyways what would be the point of such a thread?
