@tuty143 that part is more believable, actually. If we consider the rest of the Story real, it is very possible that the officer did that intentionly. I know I would. The admissions officer is not risking anything, after all. Why not just give a piece of info to a stressed teenager?

@tuty143 because it looks like an accident. If the Story is real, it would be absurd for an experienced admissions officer to make a mistake like that.
Harvard admissions office has a handful of people answering calls. If one of them had a habit of Muttering sensitive information, we would have plenty of people who know their decisions.
This is all based on assuming that the story is real. Personally, I don’t think that is the case.

I would call them and give it a shot but they specifically said they will be going into committee Thursday/Friday to make decisions. So basically only deferrals would be decided so far anyway, and if they asked for my info I’m assuming I’m not deferred yet?
