I am trying to distract myself by watching the crime show White Collar but I find myself on CC too much…
I hope I meet a lot of you guys during visitas in the spring!
@MDMBAJD2026 Welcome to CC, haha. It sucks your soul in…
If you guys get in, are you still going to apply to all your RD choices? A few of them? None of them at all?
@schroscat thanks! I am glad we have such a supporting group of applicants
I really want to be involved with theater while in college (not major but as a major activity), does anyone know of people involved with theater performances at Harvard or know anything about it yourself?
@MDMBAJD2026 I know that the theatre program is actually pretty incredible; you audition once per season, and that audition counts for all of the productions.
If I’m accepted, I don’t plan on applying to many other schools. Since Harvard is my first choice, I won’t really consider any other schools, and it would be unfair for me to apply to a school and take someone else’s spot if I am accepted there, as well. Also, too many applications.
@karakoram Yes. I’m applying to all my RD schools because I just really don’t like the idea of ‘missing out’. I love Harvard but it does have stuff I don’t like. What if I get into some other school, visit a second time and realize “hey, this is a better fit for me than Harvard!” I wan’t to have that option.
If I get in I will definitely be attending. Is anyone planning on going to grad school?
Ok let’s lighten up the mood. Tell me something about yourself that you LOVE and something you don’t love so much. I’ll go first. I love how open and accepting I am. I love being around people, even though at first it may not seem like it, because I firmly believe that if we live on earth we are meant to learn about eachother and our unique experiences. But…I have a serious case of RBF, Resting B-tch Face… and I can be very abrasive if someone rubs me the wrong way or pushes me the wrong way. So…those are the things I love and hate. Lets hear everyones.
@QueenN22 btw you are gorgeous (if that’s your pic in your profile) I’ve been noticing it this whole thread but didn’t want to come off as a weirdo!
Love: my enthusiasm. I mean, some people find it ridiculously annoying, but I love the fact that once I’m awake, I’m set to go. I sing in the halls, I’m yelling across the room, and I’m just peppy.
Don’t love: how harsh I am of myself. I’m constantly criticizing myself, and it drives me insane how I always put myself down.
@tuty143 Oh thank you! And no, it doesn’t seem weird :x
I wish I could sleep through these next 4 days and just wake up on Thursday afternoon
@karakoram None, I chose to apply to Harvard SCEA because it’s my top choice haha
Wake me up when Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday (also Thursday afternoon) ends…
the other day I logged onto Common App and I was looking at my FERPA/Recommender page and saw that none of my recs hadn’t been downloaded yet and I immediately called my counselor and started crying and yelling “CALL HARVARD RIGHT NOW BEFORE THEY MAKE DECISIONS” and then I realized I was looking at the Recommender page for Stanford, which I had submitted just moments earlier (curse that Dec 1st deadline for portfolios). If this doesn’t prove i’m going absolutely crazy then I dont know what will
Positive: I am hard working. Even if I may not be best at something, I will exhaust myself on it until I feel as if I’ve tried my absolute best - in academics, athletics, and extracurriculars
Negative: I can get caught up on little things, criticize myself, and worry myself to death. I’ve been working on this throughout high school.
@vhhs2016 omg!! I would be mortified! My counselor already had to talk me down from mental break down a month ago. Hes such a realistic guy “remember its a crapshoot so you will be getting a lot of rejections mixed in with great acceptances” But right before submitting my app he honestly was like "chin up kid you’ve got a bright future because of your merit in all aspects of your life. "
