We also need to remember that every year, admissions is looking for something different for their class. Especially since the SAT is becoming less desirable, they may overlook the need for a perfect SAT score. Again, when I visited, the admissions counselor stated that adcoms doesn’t really care about SAT scores anymore. The game has changed, and a high SAT/ACT/perfect GPA won’t save you in the admissions process. They’re looking for the future leaders, future game-changers, future successful people for their incoming class–not just someone who can score high on an exam.
what should we talk about so this thread doesn’t die
…Christmas.
I’m going to Brazil for Christmas! Any Brazilians in the thread with some advice or fun things to do in Rio?
@tuty143 I’m stuck in 'Merica for Christmas. Send me some Brazilian chocolate!
Wow I just read all of the thread pages for today. Everyone here is going crazy with stress it seems. We should all just try and get lost in something we love. I personally went off-course snowboarding today with some friends and it was a great way to get my mind off things. We all need to remember to keep things in perspective.
@SteveySteve We’re all going insane, haha. But, at least we’re going insane together!
@tuty143 she loves being a nurse! This is actually going to be her second job (she is currently a pediatric ICU nurse at Shands) so she’s been a nurse for around 2 years I believe.
I think every ivy applicant is going insane. My apologies for barging into the harvard thread. penn applicant here
@PancakeGirl100 Welcome! When do you guys find out Penn’s decisions?
@schroscat December 11. No confirmed time. What about harvard?
@PancakeGirl100 5pm ET on the 10th
@PancakeGirl100 December 10th, 5:00 PM EST. The official email has not been released, but applicants have called admissions, and they said the 10th.
1 day earlier than Penn!! Well, I wish you all the best of luck and don’t lose your mind the next few days, though I will :))
@PancakeGirl100 Best of luck to you as well! Hang in there!
@schroscat Thanks, I’ll try! lol
@flautamagica UF is actually amazing if youre premed or nursing!! Lots of great opportunities, resources, facilities, and faculty + its a big state school and easy enough to get good grades for grad/professional school admissions.
@PancakeGirl100 My friend is an undergrad in his 4th year at penn and hes interning in the admissions office this year. He says that results are 100% coming out dec 11th 5pm EST.
What’s with the Ivies and releasing decisions at 5:00? Haha
@giraggeinatree OMG REALLY?? Thank you for letting me know! I’ll tell all the other Penn applicants! And by any chance do you happen to know if they’ve already made the decisions?
